The Great Mouse Hunters (maybe)!

 Update:  July 2008

Hmm.. I need to see if I can take some pics of the cats as they are 2 years old now.

Every one has been spayed or neutered - no more being born here.

They are excellent mousers judging by the numerous bodies we've found around the farm.  Since we supplement their diet with food they have been pretty much sticking with hunting the mouse population and have been leaving the birds alone.

They aren't true "barn cats" - they like to be caught and cuddled.

Howler has passed over the bridge - he wasn't faster then a speeding car - you can see is kitten pic on the "In Memory of.." page.

I'm sad that he's passed and we knew that might happen when the cats were moved out of the house.  These are ACTIVE cats and they didn't do well being cooped up in the house.  There were numerous things they knocked off or destroyed while they were in the house.   These cats are not your normal city house cats that lay around a lot.

Update:  July/August 2006

Chani's last litter of kittens (she's been spayed) - born on Tax day - 4/15/2006.

These pics were taken when they were 2 months old (6/14/2006).

Guess you can tell who the Daddy is (GRIN)!  Most definitely - Timmie!

From left to right - Howler (gray tabby - boy), Sweetie Pie (boy), Buddy (boy) and Pixie (girl).

The living room will never be the same again!

I have been told that large ears  and a long tail is a trait of cats who will be  excellent mousers.  From these pictures all the kittens should be excellent mousers.

All have green eyes (both Mom and Dad have green eyes).

The white kittens have a varying amount of spots on their heads - however, these spots are already disappearing and will fade totally away by the time they are one year old.  Timmie (the Daddy) also had a small spot on his head when he was young.  That spot faded before he was 1 year old.

Here are the individual pictures of the kittens.

See Howler on the "In Memory Of.." page.

Pixie

(temporary name 'til we find another) - the only girl from the litter.

*********

Sweetie Pie

another boy.

*********

Buddy

the biggest boy from the litter.

These pictures were taken 1/22/2006.

Here's Chani - the mama cat we adopted in late spring of 2005.  She's still retained the excellent personality that I liked in her. (Spayed in 2006)

And here is Timmie (neutered shortly after this pic was taken).

This is Chewy - The remaining boy from Chani's first litter. (Neutered now).

Timmie was named after the young boy's character in the movie "Jurassic Park".  He had a couple really bad days right after coming to us, just like the boy in the movie.

Nope not twins - cousins yes - born about a month apart.

The only real way to tell them apart is to look at their eyes.  Tom - the other cat - has left us for parts unknown.

This is Chani - the infamous Mama Barn Kitty - NOT - she loves the house!!!

It's always nice to learn new things in a group!

I was trying to watch this Horse Training DVD and Chani decided to join me in learning.
